KBank Credit Card

Recommended Posts

Not sure why the EEA should be singled out but I received this message :

KBank Credit Card would like to inform that, with effect as from 1 February 2020 onwards, spending via KBank Credit Card at merchants in The European Economic Area (EEA) shall not be calculated for KBank Reward Point.

I guess it might have to do with the relative new European data protection laws GDPR.

The bank obviously wants information about what the customer bought and where etc.

Maybe now they will get only some of that information and for that reason they don't want to give any reward for limited information.

Just a guess...

It seems like a Thai banks are catching up. Citibank Malaysia has announced that its Malaysian credit cardholders will no longer receive rewards points or cashback benefits for transactions made at merchants within the European Economic Area (EEA) since November 2019.
