Is the elite visa a multi-entry visa?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Hoping someone can share their knowledge about the elite visa.

With the 5 year elite visa can you re-enter unlimited times? I travel a lot and would be re-entering ~10-12 times per year.

Thanks

Yes it is a multiple entry visa that allows unlimited 1 hear entries for 5 years from the date of issue.

so one just leaves and re-enters, no need for any sort of re-entry permit?  No fees?  Do they still do some sort of stamp out and stamp in or somehow indicate coming and going in one's passport?

Its a multiple entry visa in the truest sense. A holder can come and go as they please - Passports are stamped out as normal, and stamped in as normal as per the Visa Policy (*there are 2 type of Elite Visa: PE & S.E) - So yes, you are stamped in an out in the regular manner.

I believe the Thai Elite P.E. Visa holders are stamped in for 12 months (I stand to be corrected on this), they have to do 90 day reports.

The Thai Elite S.E. Visa holders are stamped in for 90 days, they have to do an extension of stay at ChaengWattana every 90 days (THB 1900).

On both visa’s if leaving before 90 days none of the above is necessary and the holder can come and go as often as they like in anyone year.

For the ‘Frequent traveller’ the AOT transfers (AOT vehicle to and from the Airport when taking an international flight) may be of interest (I believe 24 round trips per year with the 5year membership).

You can actually squeeze almost 6 years out of the 5 year Elite Visa, by exiting and re-entering Thailand just before the 5 year validity date expires, and you will be stamped in for yet another 12 months.

However, during that last period you would need re-entry permits on re-entering Thailand as such re-entry permit will keep that last 12-month permission to stay alive.

And obviously you would not be eligible to the EliteVisa advantages after expiry of the Visa.

The Elite representative that escorts you through immigration checks the date on the stamp that immigration put in as once on mine they put the normal 1 month rather than 1 year which soon got changed when the rep took the passport back to the immigration official.
