Reluctantly decided to go down the health insurance route for annual o-a extension rather than change to just an o but I’ve read somewhere that your extension will only be extended till the expiry date of the insurance. So for my initial application for my insurance assuming being able to get it, for what date should I get it activated, my extension expires on 27 May but I always renew during the first 10 days of May. If I have it activated on the 27th then technically I’m not covered at the time of applying for my extension or if I have it activated say on the 1st of May then I’m doing myself out of a month of extension although that would only affect this for one time. Suggestions please.

 

 

I will be trying the same thing next November. Have you discussed the strategy with your insurance agent?

Others have had their insurance go into effect on the date their current extension ends so that new extension would have a full year of coverage and immigration accepted that.
