have read a number of posts with folks have trouble opening a bank

account in the united states.

 

received an email recently from discover card (yes, i have one), offering

no monthly fee online savings accounts, no minimum opening balance,

and paying 1.70% interest.

 

opened the account last night in two minutes.  (don't have any need for

it now, but it's free, and who knows)  used parents' mailing address

and phone number.  there was no confirmation call or ocp code needed.
