Phaiboon Sangsan - the 56 year old man who drove a car into his neighbor at an Ayuthaya housing estate killing him instantly - has been denied bail by the court.

The court rejected an application by his family based on the grounds of the seriousness of the charge of murder against him.

Suphan Yatbanthung, 57, was killed at the weekend while tending to plants outside his house. The pair were said to have had a long running feud. The shocking incident was caught on CCTV.

Phaiboon's wife turned up with 500,000 in bail money and offered the credentials of a person in the civil service as part of the bail application but it was rejected. The application was also opposed by the victim's wife, reported Daily News.

The defendant was taken away to prison in Ayuthaya.

His wife said the family were concerned for his health.

Meanwhile the victim's wife Pankamon Rasami, 44, and her lawyer are pressing for premeditation to be added to the charge.

Most who have viewed the appalling footage would be left in little doubt that the driver of the car had murder in mind, notes Thaivisa.
