The Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing has sent three officials to help Thai people in Wuhan city, which is a fighting a coronavirus epidemic outbreak, the embassy said in a message posted on its website on Saturday (February 1). The plan is to bring the 135 registered people back to Thailand.

The embassy sent two first secretaries and one second secretary, Nirat Kanchanarachit, Methas Chaiphut and Akkhanit Khamket.

“The team left by car from Beijing to Wuhan, a distance of over 1,200 kilometres which will take 14-15 hours. We expect the officers to arrive in Wuhan on Sunday evening (February 2) to perform their duties in the area,” the official said.

The official team will follow China’s measures to prevent and control the virus outbreak after the mission is completed, including physical examination and confinement to monitor the symptoms for 14 days.
