(Reuters) - Actor and comedian Adam Sandler has reached a deal with Netflix Inc <NFLX.O> to make four new movies for the global streaming service, the company said on Friday.

Sandler, a former "Saturday Night Live" cast member who built a career on movies such as "Grownups" and "The Water Boy," has become one of the biggest draws on Netflix, according to the company.

Sandler's "Murder Mystery," co-starring Jennifer Aniston, was ranked the streaming service's most popular title in the United States in 2019. It is one of six movies and a comedy special he has made for Netflix with his company, Happy Madison Productions, since 2015.

His upcoming projects for Netflix include "Hubie Halloween" co-starring Kevin James and Julie Bowen and an animated feature film that Sandler will write and star in as a voice actor.

Netflix is counting on original movies such as Sandler's to help it compete with new rivals, particularly Walt Disney Co <DIS.N>, which has been removing its films from Netflix and taking them to its own Disney+ streaming service.

Gets 8/10 on IMDB, so better stick to your Marvel movies.

Also, try Spanglish. It's great. ????

Sandlers alright. Atleast hes entertaining, acting in Uncut gens wasnt bad actually but bring on 4 stupid funny movies i say!! I will probably be locked in a house for a while because of pollution and corona so the more movies the better..

Sandler is great, but he has a weird sense of humor,  he should be kept from the writing or have an editor with authority.

I thought it was rubbish too, and I do not watch Marvel.

It certainly was different, but definitely not rubbish. Adam Sandler's performance was great. I would give it 7/10.

Have you seen Uncut Gems? Watch that before you judge.

I have....didnt really impress.

I was looking forward to the movie.....but the loud music over the opening credits making it difficult to hear the dialogue wasn’t good. Then Sandler’s character.....I found his character annoying. I lasted twenty minutes and bye bye.

Isn't comedy supposed to be funny?

What part of...

"YOU AIN’T COOL UNLESS YOU PEE YOUR PANTS”

Is funny?

You can always add subtitles.

Yes, one of the biggest examples of over acting I have ever seen.

Sandler should stick to being an idiot more entertaining.

I watched it at the recommendation of a good friend but got bored with it about 1 hour in.

I tend to agree with those who think AS is better at zany comedy but as my friend said "each to their own"

Choice is a wonderful thing ????
