Advertising slots during the Super Bowl are seen as the Holy Grail for those with something to promote and no expense is spared when it comes to producing commercials of genuine quality.

 

That was certainly the case with Google’s beautiful advert on Sunday night, a poignant and moving tribute to grieving husband reminiscent of the Up, the Pixar masterpiece.

 

The company opted not to fill the advertising spot with celebrities and instead solely employed a Google employee’s 85-year-old grandfather. The result shows that big names are not necessarily the answer to producing an effective advert.

 

The people of Twitter were blown away by the content and not shy in mentioning just how moved they were after viewing the spot for the first time.
