Bangkok: Jailbreak.....of sorts! Convicted thief walks out just two weeks before completing three year sentence

A convicted thief was caught on CCTV just casually strolling out of Bangkok's high security Klong Prem Prison on Ngam Wong Wan Road in the north of the capital.

No one thought anything of it - after all, lots of prisoners are released after serving their time, reported Sanook.

Krissada Muangprae was dressed in a white t-shirt and shorts and was carrying a bag as he walked out yesterday morning.

Prison officials said he was inside for theft and had nearly finished a three year term. He was due out on February 28th.

They said that he was not in a high security section but was part of a work detail on vocational training in a car care area where vehicles belonging to staff and visitors are cleaned by prisoners who are soon to be released.

Now everyone is looking for Krissada.

Please call 1070 if you see him - he has some distinctive tattoos on his upper body.

Keystone cops springs to mind.:cheesy:

So he just walked out, without anybody noticing, priceless, too busy on their smartphones to notice.

Ok he walked out, but a bit stupid if only days to go before his release... Bit stupid or what.

Getting out early before the spread of the Coronavirus takes full flight in the prison, hope he hasn't got it and spreads it to the community at large.

I dont have  a Twitter account, maybe that is the reason.

If you are so long in prison you lose the feeling for time. I myself have to look often what day is today. For sure a misunderstanding.

He may have had a good reason.  The prisoners knew he is getting out, may have propositioned him to do some things in the prison or outside the prison.  Hard to believe he would jeopardize his prison time with two weeks to go.

Surprised no one commented on;

 work detail on vocational training in a car care area where vehicles belonging to staff and visitors are cleaned by prisoners who are soon to be released.

Seriously? When did cleaning prison officials cars qualify as vocational training? If they expect the cons to get a job when they get out then yes they need real vocational training, not  work experience as slave labour.
