PHNOM PENH, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported industrial products, including garment products, worth 11.18 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 14 percent, Cambodia's state-run Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) reported on Monday.

The report from the Ministry of Industry and Handicraft showed that the export of garment, footwear, and travel goods accounted for over 83 percent of the country's total industrial product exports, or 9.32 billion U.S. dollars, up 11 percent compared to that of 2018.

The non-garment exports such as milled rice, white sugar, animal feed, bicycles, beer cans, beers, soft drinks, cigarettes, electronic appliances and so on were valued at 1.86 billion U.S. dollars, up 27 percent.

According to the report, some 269 new industrial factories were opened last year, up 51 percent from the year before, making the total number of factories in the Southeast Asian country to 1,730, employing 1.04 million people.

Of the total number of registered factories, 1,069, employing 923,313 workers, produce garment, footwear and travel goods.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

I would have guessed more $ with the amount of China factories everywhere.

Unfortunately, Thailand didn’t get the memo about keeping your currency down to boost exports...

I wonder if shipping your products through Cambodia would be an effective way of circumventing a trade war that might be going on.
