The 137 Thai evacuees from the Chinese city of Wuhan, who have been under observation in guest houses at the Sattahip naval base since February 4th, are expected to return home to re-join their families tomorrow (Wednesday) after final medical check-ups.

Dr. Hansa Raksakhon, director of the 6th Disease Control Office in Chon Buri province, said today that the 137 returnees have completed their quarantine and they are all in good shape.

The results of their final medical checks will be known tonight, said Dr. Hansa.

There is one evacuee who has been treated for COVID-19 separately at Chon Buri hospital. Dr. Hansa said that this patient has fully recovered, but will be subjected to a final medical check before being allowed to return home, probably tomorrow.

Disease Control Department deputy director-general Dr. Thanarak Phlipant told a news conference today that two more COVID-19 patients, both female Chinese tourists, have already returned home, bringing the total number of cured patients to 17.

Of the 95 passengers from the MS Westerdam cruise ship, who were allowed into Thailand before the border was closed to more passengers from the ship, currently docked in Cambodian waters, most have flown home, except two foreign passengers and two Thai citizens who have been placed under observation for 14 days, in accordance with medical protocol for infectious diseases.

Officials, from the Foreign Affairs and Public Health ministries, Airports of Thailand Company and the Immigration Bureau, met yesterday and agreed that chartered flights carrying Westerdam passengers will not be permitted to land in Thailand until the end of February.

Regarding the COVID-19 situation in Thailand, 18 patients are still hospitalized.

14 day quarantine, they think this is enough?

when we know that eminent Chinese specialists have said and repeated that it might be 24 days ... or even more ...

but the Thai people know better than us the farang and even better than the Chinese doctors of China ...

Two planes carrying hundreds of US citizens from a coronavirus-hit cruise ship in Japan have arrived in the US.

One plane landed at a US Air Force base in California and the other in Texas. Passengers will be isolated at military facilities for 14 days.

Yes. 14 days is the WHO guideline from all advice. China is still stipulating 14 days whatever else has been said.
