Thai Bankers’ Association members have launched a swath of relief measures to help businesses and individual customers affected by the Covid-19 virus outbreak, the severe drought and the appreciation of the baht.

Association president Predee Daochai said today (February 25) that banks have already contacted their customers to offer them relief packages.

Among the measures for businesses in the tourism sector is the suspension of principle payment for a maximum one year, during which they need to pay only interest.

The packages for customers of auto loans include extension of repayment schedules and reduction of the monthly repayment amount.

Predee added that the association would closely monitor the situation until it returns to normal.
