Live swine exports are having a positive effect on prices but pig rearers might experience slow growth conditions due to the hotter weather, the Swine Raisers Association of Thailand said on March 1.

The Thai Meteorological Department reported on February 29 that temperatures were going to head higher for the next three months.

This weather will result in the slow growth of swine, the association said, and businesses will also face higher costs and risks.

The price of pork has already increased. In the east it is Bt74 a kilogramme, while in the north and northeast it is Bt72.
