Mask hoarding: Facebook photos were edited, deputy minister claims

Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Thamanat Prompow claimed that the Facebook photos of Sornsuwee Puraweerassawach together with his associate Pittinan Rak-iad hoarding face masks were edited. 

 

The minister said today (March 10) that officials have investigated the case of face-mask hoarding, which the media should focus on, rather than his resignation, after rumours that he allegedly knew about the claimed hoarding and planned sale of masks to China.

 

After police found there were no masks being hoarded, Thamanat believed the photos were edited, but it might also be part of a political scheme, he said.

 

He has also reported to the police all the media that have published false information about the Department of Internal Trade and the Commerce Ministry. 

 

Regarding criticism from Democrat Party members, Thamanat said it was not his business to speak about other parties, but he asked the media to present only news that is beneficial to the country.

Whatever he says the Masks are still not reaching Pharmacy's as it was promised they would.  This morning i visited Pharmacy's in Tesco, Big C, Watsons, Boots and two private ones in Chiang Mai and it was 'No Have'.   They don't have a clue when they will get any either !

I think it's glaringly obvious now just who this guy is protected by, but we can only wonder what dirt he may have on this person to be afforded all the passes he is getting.

 

The skeletons are literally falling out of the closet, and still he carries on. Gonna be a dreadful few years for Thailand while this lot are immovable

Agreed. It seems like his protection goes far above Little P.

Indeed. Not only that, but he evidently also lied to the public when his heroin-smuggling conviction came to light not very long ago. And now we all should just take him by his word that his "associate" is completely innocent?

 

It's not like local politicians had never ever taken advantage of a situation. I distinctly remember one certain not-so-gentleman having been accused a few years ago of hoarding cooking oil when there was a market shortage so he could drive prices up even further. And another oh so upstanding politician allegedly supplied schools with tainted milk, pocketing millions over millions of government funds.

 

And now those pictures of Pittinan supposedly have  been "edited" -- just as much as the Australian court documents attesting to Thamanat's own trial, conviction and jail time allegedly were, perhaps?

I think by that he meant no more reporting the truth by the media please. Every time they get caught it makes the country look bad!

If you need Face Masks you can now order on AliExpress before they were out of stock but now they have them again.
100 for $50 probably made in Thailand lol.

The man is on a good way. Better sell hoarded masks to China than Heroin to Australia

I know for a fact that a big public hospital in Chiangmai ran out of masks for their medical staff this week;
I was asked to donate some ( I gave 15) by my sister-in-law who is a nurse there. Now we know why.

I put an order in to a seller on Aliexpress in late Jan this year.   They got back to me 2 weeks ago saying the government in China took their stock and it would be 3 months before they could supply. I'd email to confirm that they had stock. And ask if they can EMS the order.   If they cannot I  would doubt their claim they have stock!

What on earth do you need masks for? Are you a medical person caring for a sick person? Are you suffering from the Covid symptoms yourself? OR are just trying to deprive people who really need the masks from having them? Do tell.

The difference being, get caught in Australia there are severe penalties, get caught in Thailand, everyone from the little general down just shrug their shoulders and ignore the problem - look after your mates at any cost.
