A total of 57 Thai workers returned from South Korea through Suvarnabhumi Airport on Tuesday (March 10), and passed the Covid-19 screening with no suspected case, the Immigration Bureau said.

However, the returnees must be in quarantine for 14 days to monitor their symptoms.

The Immigration Bureau informed that 1,773 workers had returned from South Korea March 2 to 10. Of the total, 414 were in quarantine at places provided by the government, while 1,284 workers had been ordered self-quarantine in their houses.

Of the 75 workers who had fever, 56 persons were checked and confirmed as not infected, while the health status of the other 19 was under scrutiny.

Someone please explain to me whether these illegal workers are self-deporting from ROK due to covid-19 fears, or have they been forced to return?  This has not been made clear by the media.

Since many are agricultural workers, I just can't see the farms suddenly stopping production and letting crops fail.
