Dixons Carphone to close 531 UK stores and cut 2,900 jobs

LONDON (Reuters) - British electricals retailer Dixons Carphone (DC.L) will close all 531 UK standalone Carphone Warehouse stores and shed 2,900 jobs as part of a plan to turn around its loss-making mobile phones business, it said on Tuesday.

All schools ordered to close from Wednesday

Education Minister Natthaphon Teepsuwan has ordered all schools nationwide to closed from March 18 onwards, in order to tackle the spread of Covid-19, said the ministry's permanent secretary Prasert Boonrueng today (March 17).

LONDON (Reuters) - British foreign minister Dominic Raab advised British nationals on Tuesday to stop all non-essential travel globally for the next 30 days, the latest stringent measure taken by the government to try to stem a growing coronavirus outbreak.
