That all objectives weren't met in the wars after World Way II doesn't mean they didn't do a tremendous amount of damage to their opponents, and could have continued if they wanted to. One sides as far as military was concerned. Vietnam we shouldn't have entered, and things weren't changed in other places also, but as far as attrition, the US always wins those, as they have here. This isn't the past, and the military is a lot stronger than even ten years ago now. That we have a leader that doesn't belong there is obvious, and this will eventually change, hopefully with another who concentrates on Americans and less on foreign countries unless they need our help or for trade purposes. Those that underestimate Americans always learn the hard way.
