400,000 in Thai Bank for Non'O' Yearly Extension

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am in the process of getting a one year extension on my Non O visa (based on being a parent of a Thai child).

My question is how long does the 400,000 Thai baht need to be in the Thai Bank account when making the application at Phuket Immigration?

I have been told its one month, some say 2 months and others say it can been in the account for just one day before the application.

Could I get the correct and up to date requirements for how long the 400.000 needs to be in the bank from someone that has recently got the one year extension from Phuket immigration.

Your Information will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

The Phuket volunteers website does not mention it has to be in the bank for any amount of time.

They used custodian which is not correct but it the same as for being the parent of Thai.

The immigration office in Kantang wants to see 400k in for 2 months but seems different story depending on each regional office.

Money can be in the bank the day before if you want.

Several posts with incorrect info and replies to them have been removed.

Please read the OP before posting and note that he is applying for an extension based upon being the parent of a Thai not marriage to one.

It has to be in the account for 90 days by law. Some immigration offices require 2 months but not many of them. I never heard from anybody that they got their extension with a day or a week deposit.

No it does not. Wrong information does not help.

Unless you can give a link to this "law"

You need to read the clause 2.18 of the police order.

@ubonjoe the site you linked mentions custodian and sole-custody. I live separately from my son, support him and his mother, and have non-O based on parent of Thai child. Can someone in my situation apply for Extension based on parenthood without sole custody?

They should accept joint custody. Perhaps some agreement could be done between their mother and you showing you share custody with her. Then photos of you and your child together at your residence.
