Tewan: No need to hoard food and household items

BANGKOK (NNT) - Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Tewan Liptapallop, has asked the public to avoid hoarding food and household supplies as the private sector is well able to comply with demand.

Meanwhile, Bangkok Deputy Governor Pol.Lt.Gen Sopon Pisuttiwong confirmed that the administration has no plan to shut the capital despite raising its screening protocols, and therefore hoarding of any supplies is not necessary.

Yesterday Big C.
Nobody is hoarding.  What I did notice was runs on sale items.  Look on the shelves where product it pretty much gone -- it's a sale!  Noticed that at Makro too.
When MSM and government officials start issuing 'scare statistics' (estimating huge increases in infections when it's yet to happen) and then as on Monday claim that Thais are hoarding (no they are not, unlike the US) it is just irresponsible.  It seems a certain subset of people in positions of leadership, both corporate and governmental, seem to want to start a panic.

My suggestion to these people?  Stop!

Tell that message to the management of Makro stores in Chiang Mai. If they put a limit on items it MAY work.

WHAT???  You don't keep a large trash can next to the toilet for when the water is off?  Me neither, but just had to 'say' something. ????

My wife goes out daily to shop! Doubled masked up to be safer I pray! Tells me everywhere she shops there is plenty of all you could want!

Do not hoard, help one another pray!

We waited for 5 days to get our Tesco order delivered, got cancelled today last minute. Next new delivery date would be Wednesday.
Usually we order at night and get it the next afternoon already. Toilet paper was scrapped entirely too, even for Wednesday.
Got 10 rolls left so it is becoming exciting, gonna head out to find some tomorrow.
