Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana, centre.

Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana was tested negative for Covid-19 infection, but will self-quarantine at home for 14 days, said his secretary Thanakorn Wangboonkongchan after the result came out today.

Uttama was tested in the afternoon on Wednesday (March 18) after one of his police guards was confirmed to have contracted the virus.

Uttama was concerned when a policeman accompanying him developed fever and cough. The infected policeman is now under treatment at Police Hospital.

He was said to have had dinner with some officers from the Thong Lo police station last Wednesday at a restaurant in the area.

Health Officials last night sanitised buildings of the Finance Ministry as well as surrounding properties as a precaution against the possibility of virus infection in the ministry's headquarters on Soi Aree, Rama Six Road.

That's a shame.... I guess it's just plain stupidity that is the cause of his decisions.

He probably just has viral pneumonia not coronavirus
