Thai Lion Air has notified the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand that it will temporarily suspend operations, for both domestic and international flights, effective March 25th, until the COVID-19 outbreak situation eases off or May 1st, whichever is the later.

In a letter to CAAT director Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Thai Lion Air CEO Aswin Yongkiratikorn said that the airline has been seriously affected by the coronavirus situation, with passenger loads dropping so sharply that, some days, there are no passengers at all.

For a moment there I thought they were doing it to help stop spreading the virus

I am glad they announced that before; Nok Air managed to not communicate, that their planes were indulged at Don Muang airport.

Invited to the opening of the third friendship bridge between Thailand and Laos, Nakorn Phanom to Thakhek, we had flights booked on 11.11.2011. Upon arrival at the airport some (other airlines staff) told us, that Nok Air is not operating. It took another six months to get a refund for those twelve tickets; we never ever used Nok Air again.
