border hop mae sott

Featured Replies

sorry if topic already done, but i am due to do 90 day border hop at mae sott in three weeks.i am uk state pensioner on multi non o, given current circumstances will i be able to extend my visa at immigration office. or will i need to leave the country and return as i usually do. thanks for any help.

At this time you would not be able to do a crossing at Mae Sot.

You could apply for a 1 year extension of stay based upon retirement if you can meet the financial requirements.

If you cannot leave and re-enter the country you may be able to get a 30 day extension.

thanks Ubonjoe sorry to be a pain but what are current financial requirements..,preferably monthly minimum. i have wife but only by thai marriage no official documents.

65k per month for being retired.

If you marry her officially, 40k are enough.

If you register the marriage at the amphoe, this will allow you to apply for a 60-day extension with no financial proof. To get this done quickly, you will probably need to use an agent. Regardless, you need an affirmation of freedom to marry from your embassy.
