Us Dollar Accounts&thai Banks

Featured Replies

Could anyone tell me which, if any, Thai banks offer US Dollar accounts? I am currently outside of the country and am having trouble finding out such a thing. Given the current state of the Thai Baht, I'd rather not make a large transfer right now from dollars to baht but must do soon as I have to close my bank account before I leave my current location. I contacted the SCB, who I banked with for nearly 10 years, and they said that they do not offer such accounts, though the person I spoke to seemed to think that the Thanachart Bank did.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks, I'll check once again on the net. Do you know what the minimum deposit is?

Almost all major Thai banks offer US Dollar (term deposits).

Perhaps the bank you spoke to assumed you wanted a current/savings

account in Dollars.

Nka.
