Non O border run COVID19

Featured Replies

Hi all,

What with this virus going on and tens of thousands of foreigners here having similar questions, I'm sure this following one I'd like to ask is just one of very, very many but need to ask it anyway.

I'm in the country on a Non-O Multiple-Entry visa. It expires on 31st July but I have to do a border hop on the 28th April, which, if Thailand's land borders are still closed by then, I know this will be impossible. Don't really want to return to the UK, so is it possible to get an extension at Immigration? One visa agent I approached is asking for 22K baht for two months and 26K baht for three months, which is taking the pi** if you ask me.

I heard recently that mounds of paperwork are now required, including submitting the ID card of the owner of the property that you rent, plus pictures of you and him/her together (already asked him and he's in the province in self-isolation and cannot/will not take a trip to Bangkok (where I am) to do this. Are the rules different to people on a tourist visa to those on a Non-O?

Or...could anyone recommend a reputable agent that doesn't want to milk me, turning a pandemic and risk to human lives, such as COVID19 into an opportunity to charge extortionate prices?

Any advice would be massively appreciated. Please stay safe everyone!

On what grounds do you have your non-O?

You should be able to get a 60 day extension if you take your wife or child with you to immigration.
