The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied accusations in some reports that it had violated the prime minister’s order by issuing documents allowing people to return to the country after the government had prohibited entry until April 15.

Cherdkiat Atthakorn, director-general of the Department of Information and the ministry’s spokesperson, on Saturday (April 4) explained that after the ban on entry had been announced on April 2, Royal Thai Embassies and consulates had suspended all channels of registration for issuing letters, and also shut down the ministry’s online registration.

“In addition, we asked Thais to proceed under the regulations issued in the Emergency Decree by obtaining 'fit to fly' medical certificate issued within 72 hours of the journey,” he said.

“Those who returned on Friday were able to board the plane because they had already obtained the medical certificate and the letter before the decision banning entry was announced.”

He added that many embassies had warned returnees that they must undergo 14 days of quarantine in places specified by government agencies.

“Therefore, the news report stating the ministry had violated the prime minister’s orders is not true,” he added.

Obviously not the 100 at the airport that rebelled, these people are so full of $**t and they refuse to enforce the law, seems it all depends on who you are as whether or not you have to obey the laws. This is really showing up how pathetic they are, rules made up on the run, people allowed to decide which ones they will and will not follow, typical really but what more can we expect

that's bla bla bla does he has anything/documents to support his statement is correct, should we believe him that all the ones at Sadao crossing had such medical certificate, I really doubt..... but if he says so, proof please

Just another simple misunderstanding? After all Thailand is famous for them. Thailand are also masters of art of deflection, nobody ever admits blame...

"We did not do it."

"Yes, you did."

"Did not!"

"Did too!!"

...

"Maybe someone from Burma did it..."

"We can agree to that."
