Due to the current outbreak of COVID-19, Bangkok Airways announces temporary closure of its three airports as follows,

  • Trat Airport will be closed between 5-30 April 2020.
  • Samui Airport and Sukhothai Airport will be closed between 7-30 April 2020.

However, the three airports will still provide services to the following flights: state or military flights, emergency-landing flights, technical-landing flights, humanitarian aid/medical and relief flights as well as repatriation and cargo flights.

The airline apologizes for the inconvenience

Sad to see the closure of Sukhothai airport - surely the world's most beautiful. Hope it reopens soon.

Let's hope this company goes bust. They have been robbing customers for 20 years with their rip off monopoly pricing on the Bangkok Samui route.
