Phuket situation

Featured Replies

Phuket currently has a lockdown, see lockdown link

Have a friend who is Rawai, and needs to get to an immigration office to extend his visa. Any suggestions? Could a visa agent in Rawai do it for him, as he seems to not be able to get to Patong or Phuket town. Thoughts?

Call immigration and ask what to do

If its on lockdown there isnt a right lot he can do, if you have been following the news on here. There is an anouncement coming about tourists stuck here and an automatic visa extension.

Just tell him to relax, wait it out until he can get to the immigration office.

Thats all he can do at the moment.

I really think lockdown is not the best word to use. It is a restriction on entering those tambons not a stay at home order.

I am sure if there is proof of a need to travel they will let a person go through the checkpoints. Just showing his extension is about to end should be enough.

The problem has been solved by immigration. There are mobile offices effective to day.

Topic here about it.

Rawai is on lockdown though people should be able to access Chalong Police station next to Chalong Circle.
