Hello. I recently started a new job for a BOI firm in BKK.

Thing is, there is no RMF or similar provisions.

I want to start an RMF account - but don't know where to start.

Any suggestions or advice? I've SCB do the RMF, but can expats invest in this? How does one go about opening such an account?

Any advice would be great. Thank you.

You can go to your regular Thai bank and ask them to open a RMF account for you, then pick one of their RMF offerings. Then they will link it to your normal savings account and you can buy online with the web app or mobile app and the money comes out of your bank account. They'll give you a bankbook for each RMF you buy.

Or, you can research which RMF you want to buy first, then go to the bank that has that one for sale, and open a new bank account and a RMF account so that you buy that specific RMF.

Yes, foreigners can buy them.

Thank you. Very helpful.

Any ideas on good RMFs at the moment? Or is it all a major risk??

And are there major risks that you can actually lose your investments?

thank you.
