  1. Another big issue is that most owner occupiers in condos don't want tourists coming in and out, and many have passed rules in their condo committees to not allow AirBnB in their buildings. So unless you like ruffling the feathers of your neighbours or building committee it would be wise to check first.
  2. Should be no problem, all you need is the blue slip from the land office to show you paid the taxes and the proof of sale and you can send the amount you sold it for.
  3. I would go and get a real tax ID card (it's actually a small slip of paper) from them to confirm your Tax ID is the same as the Pink ID card. Mine are not the same. You can only claim back 2 years I think, you have to pay a 200 baht late filing fee if you do.
  4. Also get the DTAC Call app. It allows you to receive the SMS codes (and calls) on another phone. So you don't need to use roaming or keep your DTAC sim in another phone.
  5. There is no International TIN. There is just one Thai tax number. Go to your local tax office with your passport and ask for one. You will be issued one and then can submit Thai tax returns if you want to.
  6. Can the $50,000 insurance be bought in Thailand? Are they going to check all the foreign insurance contracts in multiple languages? Anybody have a rough idea of what that type of coverage would cost? and how long must it be for (I assume the length of your intended stay) if for example you are on a re-entry permit.
  7. This is not correct. It needn't be your home country (however that is defined). It can be from any country or multiple countries. As long as it comes in as foreign currency.
  8. I have no special knowledge but I doubt they will check your age when re-issuing an existing card. It is probably an automated process. They don't for example check that you are still employed on cards that require proof of employment to initially obtain.
  9. Yes, staff definitely outnumber travelers. weird feeling. Still wouldn't let us in to the THAI lounge though, because we weren't flying on THAI, (who are not flying anywhere) doh!
  10. Went through 3 weeks ago. Almost everything is boarded up, except 1 or 2 duty free, and a kiosk or 2 selling drinks and snacks. So don't expect any choices.
  11. I think all the banks stopped issuing pure ATM cards a couple of years ago. You can however get the debit card and set its spending limits to zero.
  12. You could try making a statutory declaration at your embassy. You write it, they witness it and confirm that you swear it's true.
  13. All the Thai Banks have a wide selection of credit cards. There is no "best" one. It just depends what you want, eg. No fee, points, cash back, air miles. Try checking their websites. That being said, the best one for you will be the one that you can get.
