Seems like many areas had an amazing amount of flowers on their mango trees this year.  But i have heard

that some places the fruit did not materialize as expected.   We are just gentleman farmers ????  ,  love our

trees , do not spray chemicals.  Use an organic spray once when flowers first appear...just that.

Then occasional watering , especially March and April when its really hot.

Trees are 4 years old,  produced fruit last year and a bit more this year.  Not a super yield, but nice looking mangoes.

Photos show 3 varieties   R2 ( oval shape, large, nice color when ripe)      tong dam ( hardy,  ripen later than other varieties)

maha chanoke  ( pretty shape , sweet fruit......  but must pick just before too ripe.   We eat a lot of these and R2 , so leave

on tree as long as possible)

We find honey bees are in short supply....we do get them but not in the numbers we would like.  You need to water every 2 weeks or whenever the soil is dry.  The leaves will indicate underwatering.  Your little trees probably need 80-100L every 2 weeks in summer.  Unless you have a dripper system.  We do a rule of thumb fruit count and multiply by 3L to work out litres per watering.  100 fruit means 300L.    Will be another year maybe 2 for the roots on your trees to find sufficient ground water.   After fruit drop the trees should be pruned.  Late April here.  Those R2's could do with a prune to shape the treeS better.   You should be aiming for an upside down hollow cone.  That will allow sunlight into the middle.   When you get buds no matter how good an orchardist you are 80-90% will end up on the ground, half of what is left will flower and half of those will fruit.   The tree branches  cannot support a huge amount of fruit.  If it gets windy branches can break,  but more often than not there isn't enough nutrients getting into the tree. The tree has to balance growth with fruiting.  We add fertiliser by prills on the ground around the tree and folar spray.   If you can you should do a soil test to make sure the soil has a good Nutrient balance and pH.  You must tell, what it is you spray on your trees???
