Hi,

So I currently have a SETV which is valid until the 17th of May and still can be extended normally for 30 days beyond that. I'm aware that with the current visa amnesty situation it's unclear if the gov will/won't extend that through May. If they don't it's possible that immigration will become very crowded again after the 30th of April.

So my question is - would i be allowed to do my extension before the 30th of April or will that not allow it as my visa is still valid until the 17th of May?

I'm mostly looking to avoid the healthy crowded immigration if possible. I know with the amnesty some might say I could chance it and potentially save 1,900 but to be honest I'd rather spend the money & not have to stress over it. Also, the whole situation seems about as clear as mud so I'd rather do things in the normal/most legitimate way as long as it is possible for me to do so.

Any advice to appreciated ????

Your permission to stay expiry date of 17th of May is still one month from now.

And it is even after the present 30 April amnesty date (which will for sure be prolonged).

Just wait and relax, and don't visit IO as you are fully legit with your 17th of May permission to stay.

If you get it extended in the normal fashion you will have 17 days (until 16th/17th June?) beyond the finishing date (end of May) of the much hoped for further extended amnesty.

Worth doing for that reason alone.

17th May is a Sunday, get it on the 15th.

If there is no extension of the amnesty the offices will have had 2 weeks to settle down.

That's great, thanks for the detailed answer ????
