webfact
Financial relief approved for employees affected by Covid-19 outbreak By THE NATION Labour ministry permanent secretary Sutthi Sukosol Employees whose businesses were not ordered to shut down by the government but are still affected by Covid-19 situation will get compensation under the social security scheme, the Cabinet agreed on Wednesday (April 15). The measure was proposed by the Ministry of Labour, ministry permanent secretary Sutthi Sukosol said. “The compensation will be similar to what employees whose businesses were ordered to close are paid, which is 62 per cent of daily wage based on a maximum monthly salary of Bt15,000 for a maximum period of 90 days,” he said. “The ministerial regulations are expected to be issued within this week.” “The Social Security Fund has earmarked Bt164 billion as unemployment fund for employees under Section 33 of Social Security Act [those with regular salary],” added Sutthi. “We expect to disburse Bt20 billion in the next three months to compensate around 1 million people who are temporarily out of work at Bt5,045 to Bt9,300 per month.” Sutthi added that the Social Security Fund had earmarked Bt90 billion as compensation for employees who quit their jobs or were forced to quit due to the Covid-19 situation. “Those who quit on their own will receive 45 per cent of 90 days of daily wages, while those who were forced to quit will receive 70 per cent of 200 days of daily wages,” he said. “This fund is separate from the elderly fund which is currently Bt1.6 trillion.” “The Social Security Office also reported that since the Covid-19 outbreak and curfew restrictions, the number of accidents had decreased considerably, therefore it would divert the annual health insurance fund of Bt50 billion per year to focus on the treatment of Covid-19 instead,” added Sutthi. ThreeEyedRaven
Lots of promises of money, but not much of it actually being seen. Will be interesting to see what percentage of those theoretically eligible get knocked back on this one.

Popular Post brain150
5,000,000 people x 6,000 THB on average/month = 30,000,000,000 THB/month x 3 month = 90 Billion The question is: What will happen after 3 month ??? Anybody involved in tourism will not have a job until next year January [if lucky !!!] And with close to zero THB coming into SoSe right now, how will they fund anything ??? The system will explode it seems. And with every day that this lock down nonsense continues it gets worse.

How can they promise more money? They can promise anything but when it comes to the point Then they will Change their mind . just look at THB 5000 for 3 Months that they Promised to be Paid even when one applied late it wouldn't matter one would still get 3 Payments of THB 5000 . Today Big Chief said there's only enough money for One Payment of THB 5000. Go Figure .
