geovalin
Phnom Penh Municipal authorities yesterday planted nearly 1,000 luxury tree saplings along the National Road 6A from the Prum Muk Buon roundabout to the Varin pagoda in Chroy Changvar district’s Prek Leap commune. The green initiative is part of the year-long celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of the US and Cambodia diplomatic ties. The tree-planting ceremony was attended by deputy governor Nuon Pharoth, the US embassy’s deputy chief of mission Michael Newbill, Forestry Administration officials and other relevant authorities. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Pharoth said the activity seeks to expand green cover in Phnom Penh as part of the smart city development plan. “The Phnom Penh capital is being prepared to attain the smart city status. We already have plans to develop the capital for 2015-2035. This tree-planting activity is but a small step among the long-term steps to make Phnom Penh more beautiful and sustainable,” he said. read more https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50717709/1000-trees-planted-for-a-greener-phnom-penh/
4737 Carlin
Phnom Penh is a city with no public parks. They were sold off to the Chinese so they could build overpriced apartment blocks. Planting a few trees is not going to make that dump any more liveable.
