Nigeria-born Allen, along with Fela Kuti, helped define the Afrobeat genre as part of the band Africa '70. His manager, Eric Trosset, said he died suddenly in his home city of Paris, adding it was not linked to the coronavirus. "The exact cause of death is unknown," Mr Trosset said.
