Featured Replies

Anyone made Malt Vinegar. Recipes on the Internet seem a bit complicated.

you are right.  I took a look once, then went of to the supermarket and bought some.  Too much hassle for the result.

I was just looking at bottles of heinz malt vinegar @ Baht 120 in Foodland and Max value yesterday.

I was thinking of using some of the 15 cases of Chang I bought on the Black market yesterday.

Must be something you could add to the Thai vinegar here. Off the top of my head a couple teaspoons brown sugar and dash worster?

Thanks. I will give it ago. You can get the malt extract here as well. I also buy the pineapple vinegar. Not so harsh as the clear Thai stuff.

Really wen u think about it not much different to white vinegar, just the colour and a bit smoother. Thai white vinegar under 20 baht a bottle. Nice on chips lol

If you are using for pickling onions etc., I made one with 50% apple vinegar 50% pineapple vinegar plus good brown sugar and spices.

Made pickled onions and picalilli with it!! ????????????????????????????????

Sorry guys. Problem solved. With the Lockdown and all the excitement of the no/yes alcohol debacle I forgot my general supplier does Sarson’s vinegar at 100 baht for 300 ml. Also delivers to my door.

Nookies Delights if you’re in the Korat area.
Stay Safe everyone.
