Visa extension and work permit cancelation

Featured Replies

I'm on a Non-B extension issued by a local immigration office.

My 90 day TM 47 will be due in the middle of May, but it also ends a few days later.

My work permit is still proper until the middle of June. To receive the "amnesty" because my new job won't start before July, first, should I cancel my work permit around the time when my 90 days are up?

Thanks a lot for any ideas, I don't know if there's anybody at the local immigration office right now.

Ninety day reporting is suspended until July 31st so that is something you do not need to worry about.

If your  extension ends you could stay until July 31st. When does it expire?

All immigration offices are open.

Thank you very much. My 90 day would be on the 28th of May, the extension of stay and work permit are due on June 11th.

But I might sign a new contract in the beginning of June, or end of May, but for a different school.

Then I could just cancel my work permit, apply for a new one, then go for a new visa extension, once I have all my documents ready.

That's how I understood the current regulations, am I right?

           Thanks a lot.
