An 18 year suspect in a drug taking case managed to escape from a police vehicle as he was being taken to court in Kalasin.

Yuthphichai had been arrested on Monday after allegedly going on a drug fuelled rampage.

He was being taken to court by two officers from the Khao Wong station. They stopped and one of the officers took 4,000 Ya Ba from another case into an evidence examination office.

The other stood guard at the vehicle where the suspect was handcuffed in the back. But he managed to get out - probably using a skeleton key - and ran off behind the Kalasin provincial sports stadium.

Muang Kalasin police joined in the hunt and surrounded the area then concentrated their efforts on a row of disused houses in the Phai Thong area.

The suspect was found cowering in some toilets, said Ban Muang.

Channel 7 posted a video of the news.

So not searched before being taken to court?
