Pattaya police under the leadership of Pol Capt Chawalit Suwanmanee gave chase after a motorcycle taxi rider (win) failed to stop at a curfew checkpoint on Friday night.

The rider - named by Naew Na as Woraphan, 42 -was eventually apprehended on Sukhumvkit Road and he had a Japanese tourist on the back.

Siam Rath had some pictures including one that showed a motorcycle fallen on the tarmac.

No illegal substances were found though both were taken away for drug testing.

No further details were given by Naew Na.

Blimey! Times must be hard for Pattaya Plod if they were forced into action after dark.

Ha ! You were out after curfew - you must be doing drugs !! Take them away for testing !

Japanese guy probably stayed out a little late with his date and was trying to get back to his (wherever). I wonder if he'll get tagged with a 50,000 baht "bail" (no receipt of course) and face the same fines that others have when caught after curfew.
Plus the 2,000 baht fee to escort him (home/hotel) during curfew. Maybe 4,000 now as they may have to make up money lost previously.

More victims of the silly curfew (running/chasing).

Others paid with their life.

In the video the Taxi driver said that it wasn't curfew time  during the chase  and something about the Japanese man being drunk as reason to why he didn't stop at the check point ???

But again what is the point of being out after curfew? Drinking illegally, or being upto no good. There really is nothing else to do.

A bit of excitement playing hide and seek and car-chases with the police maybe.

Aw c,mon, do you know anyone who went out after 10pm, caught a virus and died ? I don,t know of any person affected by this planned scaremongering, now know anyone who knows anyone ????

Lots of others on the road if you look good at the videoclip. They just avoiding the checkpoints?

What exactly did the tourist do wrong?  Can't be curfew, the road is busy.

Arrest the win, sure, but the tourist????

What he did wrong ....... have more money in his pocket than the policeman.

My brother is a cop in Canada and says 90% of the time someone does a runner, or a short one, is to just ditch / toss their stash / then usually stop not long after.  They don't have to test positive to be out dealing.  My bet is one of them had something on them.

I have problems to understand your post.

"caught a virus and died"

What I refer to, is people who died when speeding/racing to beat the curfew time.

It is difficult to hear clearly with all the noise, but it sounds like the win said he had been drinking and was afraid of stopping at the checkpoint. It is easy to see he is drunk. And in a pretty good mood given the circumstances.

Absence of evidence in your circles does not prove very much.

Being the old fart that I am, I enjoy the 10 pm curfew.

No noisy motor bikes racing down the road and no karaoke :clap2:
