Thai soldiers agreed to remove tents from a disputed border area in Thailand’s Chanthaburi province and in Pailin province, an official said. Speaking at a press conference at the Council of Ministers yesterday, deputy governor Thou Phea said now Thai authorities moved their tents from the undemarcated border area since last week following a negotiation.

“After the negotiation, the Thais moved their tents and the dispute ended. Both sides cooperated well with each other to find a solution,” Mr Phea said. Last week, Thai soldiers erected tents in a disputed border area in Pailin province.

Lieutenant General Seng Thearin, deputy commander of the 5th Brigade, said last week he led a working group to meet with Thai soldiers to solve the issue. He said that in a meeting, Thai soldiers agreed to remove their tents.
