Thai Airways International (THAI) is working with the Foreign Ministry as well as the Thai missions in Sydney and Canberra to bring back Thai nationals who have been stranded in Australia.

Squadron Leader Anirute Sangrit, THAI’s vice president of flight operations and director of the airline control centre, said that on Thursday (May 21), 293 Thais took TG476 chartered flight from Sydney to Bangkok.

“The returnees landed on Thai soil at 5.46pm on Thursday,” he said, adding that on May 18, 40 Thai nationals stranded in France boarded the TG933 cargo flight from Paris to Bangkok.

“They arrived in Bangkok at 12.35am on May 19,” he said.

Anirute added that in a move to cut down on the risk of Covid-19 transmission, THAI crew members implemented social-distancing measures from check-in to disembarking.

“We also had flight attendants wear protective suits, face masks and gloves while performing their duties. Members of the crew also constantly monitored passengers for Covid-19 symptoms throughout the journey,” he said

I don't think Australia is a bad place to be stranded.

Well with the Aussie government giving them around 80k baht per month they will be kicking and screaming as they are dragged on the plane.  Have Thai friends in Melbourne and they love the 20k baht per week handout
