Any ideas where I can buy Creatine Monohydrate in BKK? I have a big bottle of this back in the UK, but I don't want to bring it to Thailand since the stuff looks just like heroin :o (Or so I'm told...)

PS - In case you don't know, CM is a combination of 3 amino acids which basically helps to convert molecules into a form that can be burnt as energy when you exercise...

This is old info but I saw it at Boots Times Square branch (opposite Sukhumvit Soi 19) a couple of years ago.

General Nutrition Centre I think.

But it is rediculosly over priced, as is whey protein. Try a few pharmacys, but you should have brought it with you. :o

Creatine has been one of the biggest money earners of late. Supplement companies have been milking it dry. How many improved, better delivery systems have been touted to get extra mileage out of sales. This is the same for whey protein. Creatine does produce a quick gain over the first week or few, but when u go off it you're back 2 first base. So to keep the water weight u have to stay on it. Creatine doesn't work for all , even the genuine creatine, used as the manufacturer instructs. Creatine has greatly distracted many people from the priorities of proper excercise and nutrition thru food. Rather than learning how to eat and train right to build lasting muscle , many get caught up in the excitment of gaining 10 pounds of water weight in a week or few. Then there's the down side, the impossibility of repeating the ten pound gain on a CUMALITIVE basis. Most importantly Creatine hasn't been proven safe. A lot of negatives about Creatine - doesn't work for many, causes diarrhea, and when it does work the gains usually but gradually fade away when you come off. Should it work for you you'll need to keep taking it to maintain over the long term, and the effects on the body of non stop use are unknown. There can even be short term alarming sides, enough reason to not fall foul of the hoopla and shenanigans of its hawkers. I quote and unsolicited text exem. "I'm 44 yrs old and had a physical for some life insurance program, and while the blood work was great, the blood pressure was horrible and there was blood in the stool. The doc ran complete tests and found nothing and asked if I'd been '..GNC'n' it..' and if so, get off creatine. I got off creatine and lost no strength or muscle, but I did lose the high blood pressure and blood in the stool. No kidding, on creatine my blood pressure was terrible and within weeks of getting off creatine-never to be touched again, my blood pressure is almost too good, with an atheletes resting pulse. Getting off creatine my resting pulse dropped 20 beats per minute, and that's a fact. Thank goodess I had a good doctor who identified the problem! " This is serious, heed the warning. As for whey protien, even the expensive engineered, cross filtered, lactose free with digestive enzymes and whey peptides and glutamine isn't gonna do you any good if YOUR digestive system can't deal with it, remember it's not what goes in your mouth it's what you digest AND assimilate that matters. Swalling pills and potions is always gonna seem attractive, because it's easy and it makes people a dream for Supplement Marketing companies. Just my few pence worth, no offence intended.

Congrats buddaboy. Well said and you brought it exactly to the point.

Guess no need to be concerned that anyone might feel offended except for possibly the supplement industry and those who just wish there would be an easy path and shortcuts in life. Pills and chemistry ain't be a solution and/or alternative to the natural approach. Keep it up. :o

Thanks for the important comments about creatine. I have to say that I've been taking this stuff for a year or so (in moderate doses). I usually work out 7 days a week for about 1 hour. I'm 45 and my blood pressure is absolutely normal for my age! (Must be this relaxing life in LoS...). Don't smoke, drink very little, have a very good diet. I havn't noticed any problems or side-effects so far :o

I'm actually back in the UK next week so I'll bring back my tub of the stuff and hope Thai custome know the difference between heroin and creatine :D
