Hi, i have a 2 entry tourist visa. The first is almost expired. I plan on going to Vientianne and then stay 2 days and re enter Thailand. How long do you need to be out of Thailand between visits? Is 2 days long enough? Also can you obtain a visa for laos on the border. I will be comming from Khon Kaen so is it best to go to Udon Or Nong kai? and then to Laos? Thanks

You can extend each entry 30 days at an immigration office without leaving Thailand if you want. Cost is 1,900 baht and photo.

You do not have to stay outside country any period of time - you can turn directly around and return if you like. Cambodia tends to impose a small "fee" if you do that but other crossings are fine.

Visa is available on arrival to Laos.

You cross into Laos from Nong Khai not Udorn. But if you want to extend your stay you can do that at Udorn Aek Hospital on Monday or Friday when an immigration officer visits.
