Featured Replies

See it every night flying gracefully past my 7th floor window in Bangkok. Large, Kite sized

definitely not a bat

any ideas?

Take a picture

Owl? You need a photo or video.. or at least a better detailed description.

It flashes past my window in the dark. I wish I could get a pic

owl is a possibility. It’s big tho, I wish I could get a better look where it’s nesting

My bet would be a heron or egret.  Lots of them roosting in Lumpini and other water parks around BKK.

Continuous steady wingbeats or some gliding without flapping?  Does it have a long beak?  On the limited information I'd go with the previous suggestion of egret or heron.

I would say an owl, but yesterday at dusk, I saw a large white kite type bird on my farm in the North East.

Never seen it before, so thought maybe it's migrating.

Ive had a peregrine falcon before, and as I didn't know they lived in Thailand, I googled it, and it said they are a winter visiter from Europe.

Batman's cape could fly, but landing would kill him
