2 Days Left, Please Help Me To Find A Solution!

Featured Replies

Hi again,

Thanks to all that replied to my last posting.

Now I am very confused.

This is my situation.

I had been in Thailand since July 2006, but realise that it only matters from October 2006.

So, I did visa run to Cambodia on 28th September, 27th October, and then again on 24th November 2006.

I returned to England on 5th December.

Came back to Thailand on 21st January with 60 day tourist visa, and have extended it for 30 days at immigration.

Now, my visa will run out on 20th April (this friday!), and people seem to think that I can't do visa run because my 6 month period will end on 26th April, and they may only give me a 7 day visa, and ive been here for 90 days. Plus, with all these scary stories coming in on visa runs, would rather avoid them.

So my question is, as a UK citizen, can I not just get a flight to Penang, stay one night, and then fly back to Bangkok? Will I automatically get 30 days when I come back? Also, do I need any special visa to fly to Malaysia? Or, do I need to get a visa to come back to Thailand from Malaysia?

I have one day to find a solution! Any help would be really appreciated, including any tips on sorting out any visas when im there if necessary,

Thanks very much,

Paul

why not just stay on topic in the old thread?

but i can tell one thing, doesn't matter if your visa run just to a land crossing border or a in and out flight. they will count your days in the same way. a lot of reports here that people come in by air don't get their full 30 days on visa examption.

so why not stay a few days longer in penang and apply for tourist visa there.

okay friday is weekend and consulate not open, but you should get a extention of stay for more 7 days here in thailand and then fly to penang next week.

nobody could give you a guarantee that you should be then in a new 180 days period, so better save then sorry and apply for a visa.

for malaysia you don't need a visa. and on this board you will find a lot of reports how to do it and get a tourist visa for thailand in penang.

If you are prepared to fly to Penang (with UK passport no need for visa to Malaysia), I would suggest you stay overnight and go to Thai consulate and obtain a TV which will give you 60 days for sure

you should be confused.

people dont give very good advice coz they really dont know the answer.

its always get a tourist visa. your situation is so muddled i think you should get a real tourist visa.............lol.

Thanks for the reply.

Not sure why I started a new thread sorry.

So, ppl who replied to my last posting said that my period ends on 26th April 2007. Yet my visa runs out on 20th April. I already went to immigration to extend my 60 day visa by 30 days, so, is it possible to get another 7days? I thought that 90 days was the maximum, which I will have already been in Thailand for.

Please could someone verify if it is possible to get an extra 7 days even after extending at immigration for 30 days already.

So if that was possible, that would get me to 27th april right, so could I then do a visa run because I would be in the next 6 month period?

Anyway advice is very much appreciated,

Thanks a lot

Paul , just go to Penang and get a tourist visa from the consulate. Assuming you are not winding us all up. I have my doubts If I am wrong I am sorry.
