Trujillo
Not sure what the thinking is here. Pond gone, tree butchered and bells removed.
CMBob
Never knew it had any pond. Are you thinking of the temple (Wat Jet Lin) that's a bit further south along Propoklao?

Trujillo
This is what it looked like before....There was a lot of thought put into this and care....now just a vacant lot...hard to see the point here. Peter Denis
Thanks for sharing the pics of how it looked. What a shame if that beautiful scenery was removed just for creating parking space!
Dante99
Idle speculation. Nobody has posted knowledge of what the Wat will do with that space or where they may have just moved the bells and pond. Why not ask while you are there taking photos?
Trujillo
There was no one around when I was there. Not even a monk.
cardinalblue
Yes, they moved the pond to the other side of town under an array of redwood and pine trees...get serious its called environmental degradation. there is no structure or process in place to evaluate adverse impacts on the environment...kind of reinforces the belief that Asia is still so far behind in respecting and protecting the environment... you see this total disregard for the environment everywhere in thailand - air pollution, chemical dumping, open sewer discharge to waterways, ocean solid waste dumping, roadside litter everywhere and really no effective local or national waste/recycling management program... the country has become one big landfill...sad

Trujillo
This is totally off the subject, but there is litter all over the area I live in. The vacant lot near my house is a favorite for the big stuff, too. But this thing with the temple is not "environmental degradation." It's the property of the temple. It's on temple grounds. It's theirs to do with what they like, but I'm not liking what I see so far....
