Change Non O Retirement to Non B

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I'd like to be able to take up offers for teaching positions but how can I apply for a Non B under the current situation?

I understand that I'd need to cancel my retirement visa first, then leave the country and apply for a Non B, then work permit upon return.

Any advice on what I can do?

TIA

Fletch

The biggest problem is that the work permit offices will not accept an application for a work permit while on an extension based upon retirement that would be required to change the reason for your extension to one for teaching. Same for the teaching license or waiver needed.

All you can do at this time is wait until the borders open so you can apply for a non-b visa at a embassy or consulate.

Just to add, if I apply for the Non B in Vientiane, would I need to get the health check document and insurance whilst there, to be allowed entry back into Thailand?

I cannot answer that at this time time since it is unknown what will be required to enter the country when the borders open.
