Marriage Visa Extension

Featured Replies

I have a 1 year marriage visa obtained in Australia expiring on 12 June 2020. My wife and I live in Nonthaburi in a rented condo. Over the past 6 weeks I have made a number of trips to Immigration to determine their requirements for the extension. I have had the 400k in a Thai Bank since last year. The problem is getting the Landlord to supply the correct house registration. He has been dicking us around and I suspect he is not declaring his income from the condo, hence his reluctance to co-operate. Can I get a 1 year extension in Savannakhet when the border re-opens and move condos when we return? Thanks.

Did you tell immigration your landlord is not complying...?

If you do end up in Savannakhet you'll be getting a new visa, not an extension.

If you need more time you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife and the do the one year extension near the end of it.

Tell your landlord that immigration does not share any info with the revenue department.

Ok I thought so. So you mean I might be able to get a 1 year visa in Savannakhet?

And, that maybe you will, if he does not supply the registration.

They were issuing multiple entry non-o visas that are valid for one year from the date of issue based upon marriage prior to the borders shutting down.

He also does not pay his body corporate levies and is hundreds of thousands in debt to the body corp. I really think we need to move. Maybe they don't share information officially but my job is to convince a tax cheat of that. Sincerely, thanks for helping. I'm very new at this.

Yes.  Multi entry non-O.  Unless things change in the meantime.

Ok, thanks. That's good news. Would the set of documents we compiled for my Application for Extension and took to Nonthaburi Immigration yesterday (10.6.2020) be used (mostly) for the Application for the new visa?

Thanks. I'm waiting now to see if the border re-opens.

I'd rather not get heavy with him.

Probably less than what you have to get the non-o visa.

Marriage certificate and copy of it, copies of wife's house book registry and ID card signed by her. No financial proof is required.

Thanks. I have all that and (as you say) more.
