Difference rice VERMICELLI, rice NOODLES, flat NOODLES ? Mama is selling many different noodles but I have never seen any difference ?

Featured Replies

hello, Difference rice VERMICELLI, rice NOODLES, flat NOODLES ? Mama is selling many different noodles but I have never seen any difference ?

Vermicelli should be made with wheat, so why do they call them RICE vermicelli ? just bull5hit marketing ?

Look on Mama website, have you seen all the different products that they sell ?

I am wondering to find if anything cheap and easy to eat for a Thai can be less poison than other 5hit dry noodles ? or are they all pure 5hit ?

Do you know the difference ? please check mama website ?

Thank you.

Uh, vermicelli should be made with worms.  That's what the word means:  little worms.

And they call them rice vermicelli, because customers are squeamish about eating worms, so they make them out of rice instead.

Forget the mama cr@p & get some real pasta

All Mama is deep fried in Palm Oil before being packaged

Not to mention tons of salt/sodium

Mama use rice noodles, which aren't pasta, which is wheat based.

Although I've never heard the term myself in the US, many Americans refer to pasta as 'noodles', for some reason. Guess they don't come from Italian stock.

In a hot and humid country, salt becomes an important consideration in a healthy diet.

I think the OP is confusing pasta shape/size names with ingredient and preparation.

Take a look at the Wiki pages:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vermicelli

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasta

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noodle

What the instant food conglomerates sell as dried soup packets and market as 'noodles' are anything but pasta [my personal opinion].

So generally speaking, what's your day to day diet?

I'm genuinely interested.

All I know is that thing has a fast and effective laxative effect on me.

This said, The only decent option for dry noodles is NISSIN brand, which is Japanese and has some real flavour to it. Thai brands like mama are barely eatable.

The few grams of dried rubbish in those packets make a lot of money for the company. The pictures on the front are worth remembering if you even consume that stuff.
