Magdalen
Hi, I have a Non-Imm B Visa, issued 18/3/20 and valid until 17/3/21. I entered Thailand on 19/3 and was stamped 'admitted until 16/6'. Like thousands of others, I am rather unsure of what I should do. I understand that there is a general amnesty until the 31/7, but is there anything else I can, or should do, before then? Should I go to Immigration? And what about the concept of simply applying for a new Visa based on retirement (I am over 50)? Most of all I am concerned about the possibility of being obliged to somehow return to the UK in August, with no seemingly easy way to come back to Thailand again in the near future. All advice and assistance would be most welcome !

ubonjoe
How did you get a non-b visa? Those are only for working, teaching and etc. You can stay until July 31st without doing anything at immigration. You can not apply for a visa at immigration unless you are on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry. You could try to apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration if you have 800k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 65k baht income. Yes I got the non-b on the basis of working in Thailand. Many thanks for your suggestion. From advice given elsewhere as well, it seems the only concrete alternative apart from simply hoping for another amnesty or that the skies will completely open up again (neither of which seems likely in the near future). Thanks again
MarleyMarl
I'm in the same boat, I have a 1 year non-b visa and a WP, my entry stamp says I was suppose to leave June 14th, but now I am in limbo. What I do is every 90 days I just leave the country on either business or leisure so i don't bother doing the 1 year extension thing, I've been doing this for a while as I can't stand being dicked around at Chaeng Wattana. Guess we'll see what happens in July, when 31st comes around, are we suppose to leave and not come back? Or come back and be forced into a hotel for 2 weeks... Isn't his WP will be invalidated and his ability to Work legally will end after converting to a retirmenent extension? He apparently never got a work permit. He does not plan on working now.

Unless there is some new announcement over the next few days, I will indeed apply for the one year extension of stay, as it seems the only way to go
