[1] Why Thai Visa would send out the feed on an email when it is locked is beyond comprehension. 
[2] Sending out via email, implies it is 'trending' and the email encourages others to jump in and give their 2 fathings worth of information/experiences.

Ok, this is one that i find interesting, the Belgium does have somewhat of a point, When I/we completed the very first Non-Im 0 years ago, the Government attended the property, five of them, anyway one of the set of questions asked in numerous fashions, was specific to who did the work, who designed this, who built that, who etc etc.

 

Naturally at the time, my response was the wife, I'd add, her nails and hands had never touched concrete or other, and in some cases the larger jobs are completed by Burmese we have on speed dial, but the odd jobs here and there we (I) completed, little wall there, outside brick shed there etc.

 

Anyway on asking on their interest, they responded that you are not allowed to do any building work yourself. 

 

So it all comes down to the area, agents etc IMO.
